how to quey for a Registry existence?

Hi There,

How do I query for a key existence? I only want to return machine that does not have the key.

Eg.
I want to find is the subkey or a value of a dword exist?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v2.0.50727
or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v2.0 SP1\SBSDisabled - Uninstall ( DWORD) value is empty

RDP/SplitView issue

I am using Goverlan 7.01.25. I use RDP to connect to the computer on which Goverlan is installed. I use Vyooh SplitView 2009 for Terminal Services for dual monitor functionality on my RDP computer. I have SplitView configured to prevent windows from popping up in the middle of monitors, yet every time I connect to a remote user, the remote user session opens in the middle of my dual monitors. I have to drag it either to the left or right side in order to get a clear view of my user's desktop. It's quite annoying to me.

Does this happen to anyone else? Is there any way to get it to open on either the left or the right monitor by default instead? Much thanks.

Alt + Tab functionality

Hello. I am having an issue with Goverlan 7.01.25 involving the Alt + Tab function used for switching between applications. In version 6, when I was finished remote controlling a user's desktop, I would use Alt + Tab to quickly and easily switch to a different application on my own desktop and then right-click on the remote control session tab in the taskbar in order to disconnect. This would enable me to disconnect without having to mouse over to the disconnect button and interfere with the remote user's mouse. In version 7, executing Alt + Tab (while connected to a remote user) from my keyboard performs the action on the remote user's computer and not mine any more. Is there any way to fix this? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

System Enumeration From Domain level

In the Administration and Diagnostics window how do I get it to display ALL systems in ALL sub-containers?

Currently it appears to search the selected 'root' container but not enumerate any sub containers;
- I right click on my domain name e.g. My.Domain, and select "Open Container" it finds no systems.
- If I pick a sub-container e.g. My.Domain\FolderOne, and select "Open Container" it will enumerate systems in \FolderOne only - but not any sub-containers within FolderOne.

Have I missed setting a preference to allow enumeration of sub-containers somewhere?

Drop Zone does not work if port is different from host

I am connecting to a server with a different port because of security reason.
By using 192.168.1.2:390 I can remote the machine but when I do a drop file it does not allow and it prompts for Goverlan installation.

Remote Control does not goes full foreground in Full Screen mode

Hi There,

I notice that in remote full screen, the bottom part of Goverlan Remote Control (Full Screen mode) goes behind (not foreground) the task bar. It is worst if I have an 2 layer task bar. It does not scroll down when and I cannot click the lower part of the remote screen.

Connecting to Windows Server 2008 RDP

I have recreated this issue on several Windows 7 computers. Goverlan Remote Control v7 (7.01.30.0316) installed. I open a new tab and connect using Microsoft RDP to a Windows Server 2008-based server. The connection works but it hangs for approximately 10 seconds before displaying the session. Anyone else experience this issue? I don't experience this issue when connecting to servers running Windows Server 2003, 2003 R2 or 2008 R2. Thanks in advance for any information.

I have not tried this on a Windows XP computer so I'm not sure if this issue is specific to Windows 7.

Firefox

I am having an issue with Goverlan 7 that was not present in 6. For some reason when I am viewing a report in fire fox and I click the export as csv it is giving me an error "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (c) isn't associated with any program." This was not happening in version 6. It would appear that rather than offering the option to download the CSV it is trying to force the option to open. Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

P.S.: I do have other avenues of opening the file and getting it I would just prefer that I be able to continue using Firefox.

Not all display when select from container and csv is not output from some

Hi There,

I am using WMIX v2. I created about 50 connection to different workstaions. I created a report templates on the following query.

When I right click on the container and select report I cannot see all my machines (some missing). I tried highting all machines and right click report also the same.

I went ahead with the available machine that I see but some machine does not have the csv output, only the html are generated. And some does not even have any output. I went straight to individual machine to generate the report, html generated but not csv.

Select FreeSpace,Size From Win32_LogicalDisk

Windows Updates Interface unable to download patches

When executing the task to have the Windows Update agent Install (or download/install) pending updates, it's not downloading the updates.

It sees them, does not download them. (WindowsUpdate.log excerpt attached.)

Admin system: XP latest patches & SP
Target System: 2003 server (or XP) latest service pack, missing a patch or two
Goverlan build: 7.01.30 11/05
Tried in both RUN / RUN-AS with administrative credentials (just for grins)

Big NOTE: The Windows Update client on the target system has no problem when activated locally. Its exclusive to the Goverlan remote activation of the Windows Update API.

Machines grayed out even when turned on and refreshed?

Since updating to ver 7, I have been having difficulty with some computers being "grayed out" in the Admin/Diags console yet I am 100% positive they are turned on and not firewall blocked. Any ideas where to look first? My apologies if I have posted in the wrong section, pretty much a noob at the forum thing. Thanks in advance.

Setting up "Goverlan Central Server" without SRV

I am trying to setup the "Goverlan Central Server" but we are not allow to add Service Location Record cos it is not control by locally? Is there another way to do it? The Server is registered in the DNS.
